Aren't these boys so sweet! This was taken at Brant and Natalie's wedding reception up at Tuscany. Their wedding cake was amazing. If you ever want a complete description just ask Erin, but be prepared for about a fifteen minute dissertation on how wonderful it is. :)This is Miss Ann Cole's preschool teacher. She is wonderful and really hope that Carter can get in next year. She is so popular that she is already all full. So sad. We are on the waiting list so hopefully.

Next year, Cole will be bringing a jacket so we don't have to do the
one arm thing. I love Lucy's pj's. We went to McDonald's after to play
on the play land and get breakfast. My kids think that pancakes are
such a delicacy because we never make them. Much like spaghetti and
top ramen. Too funny. Liz always has really yummy spaghetti for her kids birthdays and my kids think they have died and gone to heaven.
They are so deprived aren't they?

Cole sleeping after being spiderman and spinning his webs all over his room. He was in his room all afternoon and this is what I found.

He actually did a really good job making it look like a web.

The last summerfest picture. The scary thing about this picture is
that while waiting in line for the ride, Carter wandered off.
He scared the crap out of us and it was serious panics ville for the
3 minutes we couldn't find him.
Amazing how long 3 minutes can really be.

So Nick didn't really want to go with us to Summerfest.
Such a party pooper!
But I now have a great way of getting him to do
things he doesn't want to.
All I have to say to him is,
"Do you want to be a part of this family or not?"
It isn't really a question but more of a statement
made with my eyes really wide
and eyebrows raised and of course hands on hips,
just for the effect! :)

and I hurried and took this picture and went to pick
it up only to have it taken out to sea. So sad!
This water was so cold. Erin and I went Boogie Boarding,
no wet suits just our swimming suits and all the locals were totally
laughing at how crazy we were. It was such a blast though!

This was Blake's Birthday. He made an "Asado" sp? Something he learned from Argentina. Tons and tons
of really delicious meat. Blake had a hard time getting the fire going,
but with the help of lighter fluid he got it going and we got to eat! "Wahoo, we get to eat!"

So yes, I read all the time where people say they are horrible at keeping their blogs updated. Well I am horrible also. I am not going to say, oh I am going to be better, I am going to be religious about posting. I will do my best. The thing that has got me going about posting now, is that I went back through my posts and loved reading the stuff my boys were doing and seeing the pictures. So there is my motivation. An accounting of what the heck is going on in my life and with my boys! So here goes a very brief recap of the past 9+ months.

Grandma Lola turns 85!

My Grandma turned 85 this week on May 13th. She and Judy came up to celebrate and Nick and I made this video for her birthday. It was made in the wee hours of the morning and we might have thought we were funnier than we really are. Enjoy. We had a good time making it. Grandma Lola is one of the fiestiest chicks you will ever meet. Tough as nails and sweet as can be! When I grow up I want to be just like her!!! She rocks!!! We love Grandma Lola tons!!!!

The bear has been replaced...by a ball

So sad, the bear was tossed aside for a ball. He has been playing balls tons lately with Paca, my dad. My parents gave him tons of balls for his birthday and this is how I found him sleeping. Then in the morning he usually grabs for his bear, this morning it was the ball.

So for the last two weeks I have been LIVING in my backyard working like crazy to get it all fixed up.
I finished filling in the dirt for the tramp, got some sod and filled it in around the tramp. I Stained the shed and painted it. We had a guy cut our a ton of the really bad grass and replace it. I put in a fire pit and had cement laid around it. I am very excited for this. Our flowers and plants are thriving and I am committed to having a nice yard this year and for years to come.

So on Friday, May 15th Cole decided to teach himself how to ride a bike. Nick and I didn't once run behind him. The day before Grandpa Brent rode his bike over and he ran behind Cole for a bit and then the next day he just kept trying and he got it! That day he rode, seriously from noon until night. I put Carter in the seat on my bike and we rode over to my mom and dad's so Cole could show my parents. When we got home he was laying in his bed and said, "Mom, my legs are really hurting." That's what you get for riding your bike all day long.

So have we officially entered the terrible two's? Officially yes, but unofficially he entered about 6 months ago. His birthday was on Saturday and we had a good time. We had a BBQ and played around. He was really tired by the end of the night as were his parents.

Gm'a Bunny gave him a picture that she made with Carter's head on Superman. Carter wasn't too sure about this one. He loved it and said, "Super Power" with some serious conviction. But I think he was baffled by how his head ended up on superman's body. He had to show everyone.

My sister gave him a bunch of board books, which he loves and his cousin, Jude loved it as well. A captive audience with Carter.

So how bad am I? Cole was taking a bath in the guest bathroom, right off the family room where Nick and I were, he was playing with his toys and having a good time, then it got really quiet. I called out to him and no response so I went in to check on him and I found a sleeping Cole. So of course I had to take a picture. He is doing well and no drowning.

Cole can't get enough of the snow. He thinks that if one snowflake drops he has to be out playing in it. Kind of makes me wish I was a kid again. No cares and the biggest worry is can I get enough play time in.

Nothing is better than muddy snow angels right? Couldn't we wait for a little bit more snow to fall?

My kids are terrified of Santa. I don't know why but they are. Cole wouldn't go near santa until I went and sat by him.

The polar express at Nick's boss's parents house. We have done this for about 3 years and it is such a fun and wonderful experience to see santa, watch a movie and ride around on a train but mostly to see all the pictures about Christ's life and to see the real meaning of christmas.

I was working in my office and I could hear Lucy and Carter playing and then the playing sound turned to "Hep, Hep". I walked out in the family room and they had gotten themselves stuck behind the chair and couldn't get out. Loved it!

Nick's birthday

The first time Cole ever had whip cream sprayed into his way by his uncle Ben. The funniest thing ever. Jude, Cole's cousin, loved having whip cream sprayed into his mouth and Cole wanted it sprayed into his mouth. Well he must not have been excepting the texture or whatever but he started gagging like crazy and we had to rush him outside and he spit it out and for about a year after that he wouldn't have anything to do with whip cream. Totally funny. Carter loves Ruby, not as much as me but he is a close second. Ruby is Brandon and Darcy's dog. The sweetest dog in the world!!!

So I have to post this because anyone who has had boys will appreciate this. Cole has a group of three other friends that he hangs with. They have play dates every week and go to school and are all in the same ward also. Last week at play date they went to Jackson's next door neighbor, who is our 2nd counselor in our ward and they knocked on the door and asked him if he would kidnap them. Bro. Sorensen was quite confused by this and didn't know if they were trying to tell him that someone was trying to kidnap them or if they wanted him to kidnap them. A bit confusing. They finally told him that they were just pretending and they wanted him to kidnap them. I guess if someone is going to kidnap your kids it would be good for a member of the bishopric to do it. So then today Nick and Cole were at my house playing and they are into this disappearing thing where they won't tell anyone where they are going. So I was finishing up some work and went to check on them and they weren't in the backyard, playroom, Cole's room so I went outside in the front (Where they are not allowed to play) and they were down the cul-de-sac carrying some papers. I whistled at them and they came running over and turns out that they were collecting everyone's mail and taking it to them. Why my kid? One of my neighbors gave them some fruit snacks for being so helpful. So I guess I have a future mailman in the works. Currently they are cleaning up all their previous messes. Do girls ever do stuff like this?

So every year for my dad's birthday, my dad takes all of his grandkids and those of his children who are lucky enough to have kids get to go also, I think to wrangle the kids. We have a ton of fun doing this and the kids love it!

So because they didn't have a coach for Cole's team, I was the lucky one who got to be the coach this year, scary! Our team did okay for a bunch of kids who have never played and having a coach who doesn't know a whole lot about soccer. I had some training sessions from Shannon though so that was good. We have an upcoming season in the spring so we will see how that goes!

In August we went camping at Strawberry and had an amazing crawfish boil. It was tons of fun as usual. This year we realized how much we miss Nick's dad trailer when we used our tent and woke up totally wet from the dew. We will NEVER take trailer camping for granted again. Now we just have to get one so Nick will continue to go camping, his absolute favorite thing to do in the world! ha ha.

We hiked up to Timp Cave with Nick's mom, Allee, Kaya, Jude and Kayla. It was a lot of fun. Carter fell asleep on the way up. It was a good hike and really good exercise especially with Carter on my back. Our guide was really cool and totally got the kids involved.

So right after Cole's birthday, Nick went to Alaska on a fishing trip that he and all the boys got from Tom and his mom. He had a blast and his most fun part of the trip was pulling in a 100 pound halibut! They had a heck of a time getting home because there was fog and they missed their first plane, but all in all they had a blast!

Cole Turns 4!

So on July 23rd Cole finally turned 4! He is the youngest of all his friends and couldn't wait to finally be 4! We of course had another Spiderman party! That makes it 3 years in a row. The kid is totally obsessed with the web slinger! We had orange chicken for dinner his favorite. Played on the water slide and had a spiderman birthday cake. Gramma Bunny gave him a picture she doctored in photoshop with Cole's head. He has to show everyone who comes over. Currently it is displayed on our piano (easier access than running up to his room to get it) He had a good time as we all did!

We went down to the Provo Cemetery with Gramma Bunny to visit our relatives graves. Bonnie's mother and sister are buried there. It was very educational for Cole. The next day Shannon came over and Cole was telling her that his Gramma bunny's sister died. Shannon was very concerned and then I told her that she died nearly sixty years ago. We then went to Two Jack's. You can't be that close to Two Jack's and not go. Right?

So if it isn't Spiderman related I usually don't know who the other childhood characters are. Our friends the Carter's invited us to go see Thomas in Heber City so we decided to take Matt, my nephew who LOVES Thomas, for his birthday! We had a pretty good time. Matt kept correcting me on the name of Sir Topham Hat! I sure hope that is right! So then we were going to go grab some dinner and we were going to meet the Carter's at Nick's Favorite place Granny's and when I got to my car with my three boys in tow I realized that I had done something that I NEVER do! Locked the keys in my car. Nice huh? So I called Nick, who was at work in West Jordan and after trying a few things we finally called the police and they let us in. Thank goodness! Oh you ask what about our friends the Carter's? Yeah they thought we had gone home. We finally met them at Granny's and had a good laugh. We did have a good time though.

I would have loved to have gotten a picture of Carter with cake all over his, but since he takes after his dad, he isn't into to sweets at all. He took one bite and made a face and spit it out! We had a good time. Carter is still a bit small but he is growing tall so that is good. He went through a bunch of tests, some that were horrible and will never be repeated! They all came back negative so we think that he is just small and again he takes after his dad, skinny as a bean pole. So we think that when he turns about 23 he will start to put on some weight!

Arizona Vacation

So we had to be in Vegas two weekends in a row May 10th for my Aunt Judy's 50 birthday surprise and the next weekend for Nick's cousin's wedding so instead of traveling two weekends in a row to Vegas the boys and I went to stay with Cam and Liberty in Arizona. We had an absolute blast. It was fun to spend time with Shea and Cam and Liberty. We were treated like royalty. The weather was wonderful a lot better than the cold weather we are having in Utah. Here are some pictures from that vacation.

What Cole will do for money...

So we were down in Vegas for Nick's cousin Starlyn's wedding and we were eating breakfast. Cole had eaten some cereal, yogurt and some milk and his Uncle Ben came down to eat breakfast. Ben saw 3 hard boiled eggs on the table and told Kayla, Cole's cousin, that he would pay her 5 dollars to eat all three. She is funny because she tells everyone that she is allergic to rotten eggs. She wanted to make sure they weren't rotten. She got 1 egg down after holding the egg in her mouth for quite a while, then gave up. So then Ben tells Cole he will pay Cole, Jude or Kayla 5 dollars for anyone who can eat all three eggs. Cole starts eating one and then picks up the second one and takes a couple of bites and then sets it back down, until his ultra-competitive mom tells him that he could buy some spiderman toys with his money. He immediately picks up the egg and then finishes two more. He was very happy about that and on Monday we went to the store and he proudly bought some spiderman boxer-briefs and shows them off whenever he can. I guess he does take after his mom. Where is that cup and I can totally fit my mouth around it! :) The bottom picture is of Ben, if you couldn't tell, he loves to have his picture taken.

Our Pets!

So my neighbor came over the other day and as she was leaving she looked in my bushes and shrieked and said that I have a huge snake in my bushes. Well upon investigating this snake it turned out to be 3 snakes all curled up together basking in the warmth of the sun. So of course the mayham ensued with the neighbor kids and my nieces, Ally and Rachel. So Ally has wanted a snake for a long time and I told her to come over and get her birthday present. She tried to catch one and it struck at her good thing she was wearing a sock on her hand. The snakes slithered down the bush and as we were looking it turned out that we have more than 3 snakes at last count it was at seven. So then the next day we went over to my mom and dad's for dinner and we were telling my dad all about these snakes that were basking in the sun and he started laughing and told us that they weren't so much basking as they were mating. So with my dad you never know when he is kidding or telling the truth, to the internet we went and come to find out this wasn't a mom snake with her two babies as I so innocently thought, but in fact a female snake with two males doing their thing. So who knows how many more snakes we will have living around our house. As long as they stay outside and eat the mice and the voles they are welcome to stay. Also I would like them to stay out of sight as well.

Fear of Bees!

I had to get this picture of Cole. He had just stepped on a bee with his shoes on and he freaked out. He is so funny because he is seriously scared to death of Ants and Bees. Bees I can understand because he was stung once. My sister Liz has tons of flowers in front of her house and he was up there the bees for some reason were totally attracted to his hair and one got him on the neck. Cole was not happy about that. The one I don't understand are Ants. If he sees a little ant on the back patio he freaks out and wants me to kill it. One time he went out to ride his bike in the front yard and came in just sobbing. I thought he had fallen down, he grabbed my hand and pulled me outside and showed me on the sidewalk where there were a TON of ants. He was so scared of them. And about 2 weeks ago he came into our bedroom because he had had a bad dream, he couldn't tell me what it was about but was scared so he climbed into our bed and about 30 minutes later Carter woke up so I went to get him and got back into bed and I tried to get Cole to scoot over and he was talking in his sleep and said, "Get them off me. The ANTS are getting me."

So this is Cole's friend Nick. These two have been hanging out together since they were 2. They have had a love/hate relationship, but now that they are getting older it is SOOOO nice when the play because they don't need constant supervision and I can actually get some work done! So yesterday we were going to my mom and dad's for dinner and we drove past Nick's house and

this is the conversation.

Cole: "Hey I want to go play with Nick"

Me: "You saw him at church today, didn't you?"

Cole: "No"

Nick: "Yes you did, when I picked Cole up from class, Nick was under the impression that he was going over to our house."

Me: "Why did he think that?"

Nick: "A little bird told him that."

Cole: "It wasn't a little bird, IT WAS ME!"

Nick and I got quite the laugh abou that one. He is just a funny kid.

Trip to the Mountain

So anyone who doesn't know what going to my Grandma Stiborek's mountain means let me explain. Pretty much it is a 5 acre cabin/garden/park/orchard place of hard hard work. It is the place that Lola (Grandma Stiborek) has built and is the place that she produces all of her wonderful jellies, frozen fruit, tomatoes, peppers, okay so pretty much anything you can think of from tomatoes to okra and rubbarb. She is amazing and we love her dearly! So we met Cam in Vegas last Friday and headed up to the mountain Saturday morning to get her gardens ready for the upcoming season. My mom gave me an outfit to put Carter in so he wouldn't get any of his clothes dirty and then she said I could throw it away. Cole, who loves clothes, was a bit dismayed because Grandma Johnson didn't give him anything to wear, so the whole time driving up there he kept saying stuff like this outfit is too big for Carter and maybe someone who is bigger could wear it. Then he would say he is bigger and maybe he could wear it. So as soon as we hit the cabin he ran inside and put on the outfit which didn't fit him at all but wore it with pride anyway. Cameron says that I have some pretty good blackmail pictures for the future. I love it. So here are some pictures from our trip. Carter loved the backpack carrier. He was a really good baby while we were up there for the day. The last one of Cole pouting was because he didn't get to use the big tools.

Cousins or Twins?

So how adorable are these two. This is Ava, Cole's cousin who is 3 months older and lives in Fort Collins. Whenever I have these two together and we go to the store, without fail people ask me about me twins. Cute kids. So here is my favorite story about Ava. Holly, her mom, asked her to get into her car seat. She was taking her time doing it, so Holly said, "Ava, I am going to count to three. One...Two..." Ava stopped her and said, "No mom, count to three like Aunt Aimee." So now you need to understand that Holly has a very sweet soft voice and I have yet to hear her yell at her kids. I on the other hand am very good at raising my voice and yelling, however I am getting better at the yelling, since Cole called me out on it back in October when he said as I was trying to get him bed one night, "Mom, can we talk?" Me: "What do you want to talk about?" Cole: "I want to talk about how come you yell at me." Nice huh? Well we resolved that and I don't yell at him anymore and he listens to me and minds. So anyway back to the Ava story. I figured that Holly would need some pointers on the whole 1, 2, 3 counting thing so I sent her the following:

Okay so the following are just a couple of recent things that Cole has said that totally crack me up.

Sadly I have to admit that I am a Project Runway Junkie. Which is really quite ironic because I am totally fashion impaired. I have absolutely zero fashion sense, but I can't get enough of this totally addicting show. I love the drama on that show. So the finale was on Wednesday and I was watching it tonight and Cole came to sit next to me and it was at the very end of the show. And for those of you who don't watch it Heidi Klum will have the designers stand on the runway and wait for the results. Well the two guys were standing there, not saying anything and waiting for the winner to be announced, and they are dragging it out and finally Heidi says, Christian, you are the winner and of course he taps into his vast feminine side and starts crying and everyone is so happy for him and smiling and so proud. Well Cole looks up at me with this incredible innocent face and says, "He won the quiet game didn't he Mom?" I lost it. I just starting laughing my head off. To see his face and then think of how proud everyone was that Christian won the quiet game, was priceless. I loved it!

Troubleshooting fool!
So my dad, being the computer genius he is, calls me quite often for some troubleshooting. So as much as I love to try to talk him through this on the phone, it works out for both of our sanity if I get the kids and go directly to the source, so we head to his office. Well a long story made short, I was driving Nick's car and something was not sounding right and Nick had told me that the brakes were going out, well I got out of the car and investigated and found that the driver side splash shield for the engine had come loose and was dragging on the ground and it needed to be put back up. So When I got back in the car I went off on this dissertation telling Cole that we are trouble shooters and if something doesn't sound right we check it out to find out what is wrong and we are problem solvers etc. So I get to my dad's office and we are in his office and I ask Cole to tell Paca (What the grandkids call my dad) what we are. Cole proudly says with much conviction, "We are trouble guns!" Love it! Love it! The kid cracks me up. So a couple days later we are heading back over to my dad's office and Cole says, "Are we going to go trouble shoot?"

It is about dang time....

So I have to say that I am incredibly impressed by all of my friends/families blogs. I love to read them and get much enjoyment out of them. I am feeling like a hypocrite so I have decided to finally join the blogging world. Nick actually set up a blog last year and really thought that I would get more use out of it than he would, well did I prove him wrong or what. I guess my excuse is that when I am on the computer I am working or reading the amusing writings of my friends and family and I didn’t want to spend more time on the computer, or that I didn’t have time to spend on the computer without Carter banging on the keys and it is very difficult and slow to type with one hand, while holding him away with the other. I decided to do my own, rather than post on his, but I can't promise that I won't steal pics or vids from his. He has got some pretty good ones on there.So here goes nothing…
